Halloween isn't just a day of candy to some

I found this information about Halloween...

Samhain is the Witches' New Year. It is said to be the time when the veil between the worlds is very thin, when souls are leaving this physical plane and souls are coming back (reincarnating). Samhain is when darkness increases. The Goddess reigns as the Crone and the God, Dark Lord, passes into the underworld to become the seed of his own rebirth.

The sentence I put in bold is what stuck out the most when I read this. We are proclaiming to be lightworkers, people who send light to heal and bring people and the earth out of darkness. Why would we want to give power and praise to a day in which darkness increases? I used to be wiccan years ago and celebrated this myself. I was so blind.

I will not leave you as orphans; I will always come to you. - Jesus

Carolyn,

This is something that I completely agree with. I've looked at so many versions of where O'Hallows Eve came from, and have known for years that Halloween is a day of darkness. The children dress as ghosts and goblins to blend in with the evil, not because it is cute. Trick Or Treat comes from either receiving a treat, or having some nasty stunt done to get even. That, is another, act of evil.

Jules,

I was almost born on Halloween myself, but was born a few hours before, on October 30. I don't think that many people actually view Halloween as a day of evil, or a day that represents a more negative connotation, however, the true meaning of Halloween does. Now a days, it's just another reason to go blow money on candy, costumes, ect. Halloween, in the states, has become the second most expensive holiday with only Christmas as its successor.

Hey Jules,

Did you know that children born on Hallowe'en will be protected throughout life and enjoy second sight. I'm not sure if I did a post on Hallowe'en last year, there was some interesting reading........I will go and search.
