dalai lama of tibet
Post: #46926
Reply to this post Reply
hi. i have over this last week attended 2 sessions with the dalai lama of tibet. i chose to attend 2 empowerment/ initiations. chenzrig and white tara. he is touring australia and new zealand. some of u may know that i have been meditating with the tibetan monks who were here previous to the dalai lamas arrival, creating sand mandalas, butter sculptures and energetically preparing the area for his arrival.

my journey started last tuesday morning, i meditated for an hour or so and heard the tibetan monks chanting and saying mantras as soon as i sat down in my shed. i also was very visual thru this and saw a sign on a building "the faithful are rewarded" this was a big sandstone building.

i called my sister to see if she could give me a lift to melbourne as i was going to stay at her house overnight as the session i had chosen to attend was on the wed morning. so that was cool, she just had to catch her cat, which was missing, so i watched rikki lake and she had a show about famililes being re-united and got my emotions going.

i havent seen my little sister melissa much as she has been in new zealand for the last 2 years, and i suppose have kinda lost touch a bit thru our adult lives. we were very close as kids. i am always hugging her in the old childhood photos. she is also on a journey of discovery, and we talked deeply about family, parents and growing up. about victim/ agressor energy and non judgement. quite challenging at times.

we got to her place and i contacted an old friend, who i will always love. she has recently done reiki a course and we shared some time and energy together. my sister melissa showed me the community gardens where she has just secured a plot to grow organic veges and some of the new american style subdivisons that r occuring near by fot he empty nesters.

i am also in the last stages of the reiki masters. the initial reiki empowerment was some 11 years ago. the final step has been over a 3 month period and i am working with some symbols at the moment and meditating. aware that i have 3 initiations in 10 days.

okay. wed morning. the ticket machine in the tram was broken so the trip into the city centre was free. melissa walked me to the tennis centre as she hadnt been here for a couple of years and there has been some redevelopment along the river. we came upon the federation bells. which are brass bowls on 3 high poles and they were playing music and tones that resonate thru your being we paused and i recognised that they were quite similiar to the tibetan singing bowls.

we got to the ticket gate and melissa decided that she ay as well attend seeing she was right here and went over to the ticket box to but a ticket and a guy came up to her and gave her a ticket and bowed in front of her, hands together. she looked at me had said ' have i been blessed?'

as we went up the steps i turned around to see a huge rainbow, in full color across the grey skies. and auspcious begining.

the chenzreg intitation had some 15000 people ther. it was a part of a week long teaching on the foundation 1000 year old teaching of the lamp of enlightenment. wjich brought the strands of tibetan buddhism to one stream. this empowerment was the taking of the boddachitta vows. one who in service, works for the enlightenment of all sentient beings. it involved mantras, meditation, visualisation and blessd water. i spent most of the 2.5 hour session in meditation

some were right into it. doing prostrations, taking notes etc all very serious and studious. the dalai lama would speak in tibetan and then it was interpreted. every now and then he would just crack up laughing about something he had forgotten to say and just really lift the session

while i am not a monk or a practising buddhist, i could feel the buddha embody within me as i believe that my pure intent to be of service is all that is needed. the only real dificulty or resistance that i felt was when i realised the vows included not entering nirvana until all being are enlightened!!! looks like i might be around for awhile! so i handed that one back over to spirit.

after the session there was a mass of people buying books, t/shirt, artifascts.... seemed so weird!

i shared a delicious meal of indian curry with melissa and was move to give the ticket for the afternoon session to the bloke sitting beside us as we ate and watched the pedsetrians on the street. we walke thru the city streets and i could the train back to geelong and walked 40 mins from the station, back home. i slept very soundly that night.

the next morning saw clear skies after 2 weeks of rain and antartic winds. i did a short meditation and some info came thru. this meditation was particularly deep and peaceful.

the white tara session was an outdoor event at the football ground. some 10000 people from all over attended and the energy was just absolutely buzzing around. white tara is a female buddha of longevitity and health/heaing.

the sun was streaming down as the dalai lama gave his initial teaching, and this was 1 week before winter! again there were mantreas, visualisation, and i again spent much of this in meditation. i saw the symbols from satorious post, lined up in a flow across the sky and saw them switch on. my 3rd eye, heart and crown were very active thru this.

i shall have to come back as i gotta pick up jack from kinda. love jules

I will be having some "spiritual " things this summer as well, nothing as great as the dalai lama, but I am going to see Suzanne Northrop, and Sylvia Browne........
two different siminars.
but still looking so forward to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and that I am having some very good friends with me makes it even more specail,.and for summer solitace, there is supposed to be some very specail being in sedona, although no one is breathing a word of it yet, an Indian guy Raphillio shared this with me.
I sure do wonder who will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jules, wow.........I cant thank you enough. I've always felt a close connection to the Dahli lama and have wanted to see him, have seen him in meditations and I channeled a message from him once (I think that is posted here under channeling from like a year ago?). Your description made me feel like I was really there myself. Seeing him now would be even more special since the birth of the white elephant in tibet last year. You have truly been blessed. Love,Carolyn

Hi Jules

Sounds just wonderful. I have heard that when he is in an area. His effect on the energy of the place can be really profound. I loved the bit about;

"the dalai lama would speak in tibetan and then it was interpreted. every now and then he would just crack up laughing about something he had forgotten to say and just really lift the session"

I met him too once in Amsterdam in Madame Tusauds (just had to post this pic, hope you don't mind). LOL

Much love* light* and loads of laughter *

okay its 4.20am but i am back online.

to continue... i came home to pick up the rest of the family ft go to the public talk. ann had the day off work and we took the kids out of school. figured this was part of their spiritual education and a cultural exchange. and in the 20 minutes i was gone a phenominal number of people turned up. fair dinkum. the line to get in was thousands long. we bumped inot ome friends at the end of the que but my 5 years old boy, kai, just couldnt wait , ans was getting annoyed so i took him to look at how long the line was and he just couldnt believe it either and he was determined to keep going, so i just went with it and kai just walked straight to the front of the que and thru the gate and found a good postion.

there were over 20000 people at this talk. we were standing next to some friendly blokes from the country, sharing a joke about getting a mexican wave going to harness the collective energy of the eventwhen one of then decided he had to get a better position. mind u they had this huge screen on the back of a semi-trailer so that all of those people behind the stage which was in the middle of the ground could see.

kai was saying that he wanted to go into the big stand, but i was looking for the rest of the framily, wondering where they would be sitting if they had got in ( they joined the que with the school kids and got to sit toward the front) there were masses of shcol kids at this event. any way i was moved again, as it occurred to me that i had a ticket to the stand as i went to the morning session, so i gave it to the bloke we were talking to. he just looked at me shocked and said dont u want to use it? but i had a pass out stamp so there was no problems me getting back in. i saw him again later, as it turns out and he was totally moved, tears rolling down his face.

we sat in the stand and the dalai lama spoke to the children, saying that this century could be one of dialogue, reconciliation and peace. that there needed to be new ways for the man made problems to be resolved at the family, community and global village level. he spoke a little about his life and meeting the late queen mother and cracked up laughing again when called her a he!! he offered his words, just as an ordinary person and did not attribute any special significance to them, and left the crowd in a bemused state at one stage when he said that if what he was saying did not seem right or was not relevant, then to disregard what he wass saying! it seemed that everyone in the stadium sighed/ groaned in disbelief!

on the wy out i saw a long time friend that i had not seen in 3 or 4 years, and again i slept very soundly that night. but could feel the events to the last few days starting to get too much with having to step straight back into family life.

friday morning saw me intent on going bush for a few days, to allow some space for the energy that was arising and associated issues to clear. i got to ballarat which is 1.5hours away and saw one of the gateways in the sky. it was huge and desert orange/red. i felt to so to the lake and meditate. the gateway grounded inot the earth and a couple of them flowed along the energy/ ley lines within the earth. the heat thru my main channel into the earth was amazing. when i sat down there was a dampness to the earth, when i got up it was noticeably quite warm. then i drove home.

sat morning, i could still feel the empowermnets and energy changes occuring in my crown and i spent the night of the full moon (with a partial penumbrial eclipse) and 3 or 4 of the planets aligned (again) just near orion constellation out side at a fire at a friends 40 birthday celebrations.... i feel quite different in a subtle kind of way.

love jules

zamble. that is so realistic. cool photo. yeah. the dalai lama seems to have an interesting sense of what is important. one time he turned to the monks that were sitting to the left and right of him (there must have been about 50 of them) and said something in tibetan, which i am sure was not translated and he laughed and laughed, seems he was saying the mantra the wrong way during the transmission teaching. didnt phase him at all. it was nice to see the monks laughing, especially when so many of there country men have been killed (1.2 million) and more than 6000 monestries destroyed. and yet they stay true to there knowing of reality, even when there is little help from the international governmnets. love jules

sarah. congratulations on the reiki masters.

i have seen the role of the reiki master attunement alter over the last 10years. and perhaps it has altered to what is needed upon the earth at this time. when i was first offered the masters 11years ago, it was seen as an apprenticship. the teacher offered it to the ones that were ready and had shown a committment to living and teaching reiki as their life. u needed to have fulfilled a number of criteria, worked with the master for a period of time and assisted to teach some of the reiki courses alongside the master/teacher. it was seen as a great honour to be accepted to this stage and it was definately not for everyone.

now it seems that the master/ teacher training is more freely available, is done in one session, is much cheaper than the Reiki Alliances' request of $10000 to $15000 and is viewed as the begining of your real learning upon the path and u r encouraged to do more learning and courses.... initially reiki was seen as a japanese form of healing with a great story of its rediscovery and now more often than not it is linked to ancient manuscripts and tibetan which has roots in india.

we choose the path that most suits us and our soul need. i have found the periods spent with my reiki teacher to be invaluable. sometimes challenging, sometimes sublime, always enjoyable and it is wonderful to get to know another member of my soul family and share a casual lunch and a laugh.

anyways i am rambling on. gotta go. love jules

Hi Jules,

I have just received my Reiki I and what a special experience!

A friend has given me a candle with a blessing. The candle she used to light mine with was lit by the flame of a candle that the dalai lama lit while he was in Melbourne last year. There must be thousands of candles lit from that one flame, such a simple but deeply symbolic gesture of unity in love and light.

oh sorry sheron. i just saw your reply as you sent it to rochelle. i had no idea that people did that with candles, how curious.

it is wonderful that you have started with 1st degree reiki. when u give and recieve reiki often, it will teach you. care to share any experiences?

i did see him at the tennis centre? i attended the session where he did the boddhisatva initiation. it was quite funny as along the way as i walked there with my sister, be past the federation bells along the river, and were there just at the moment they began to play. the tones were just beautiful. somewhat like the sound used in reiki attunements. love jules

rochelle. has it really been 5 months since you posted this? it has popped into my thoughts often to reply, but havent really known to to say.and the few times i have had something to communicate i had already used up my posting quota.

i dont feel very qualified to speak about tibetan buddhism, as my learnings r very ecclectic and there r many recognised tibetan lamas/masters that are already doing that.

i have no-idea what i have already written earlier in this thread. but i attended a white tara initiation at easter this year. the form of that intiation was very interesting. not only in the style of meditation but the balance of form and wisdom. on a number of ocassions the lama happily added wisdom that was a departure from the normal form of the teaching, which suprised and challenged the interpreter. and the visuals would come thru on the tibetan words (even though i did not undertand them) rather than the english interpretation.

now that i have found this thread again. i will come back. its 2.51am! love jules

Hi Jules,

There have been a number of unusual experiences since my first attunements and as I have just come past the 21 days I feel fantastic.

The first odd thing was shortly after the fourth attunement ... I felt as though someone had hold of my heart and shook it 2 or 3 times ... firmly but very gently at the same time. The about a week and a half later I was sitting at my desk on a wheelie chair and I felt that I was pushed very hard from left to right. Now while I cannot be certain that the chair actually moved, it sure felt like it rolled at least 6 inches. After that shove, I felt really calm and started noticing all kinds of things that I would probably have taken as a mere 'coincidence' previously.

Now I am looking forward to Reiki 2. Can't wait!

hi sheron. yeah (smile) the experiences are something special arent they.... seems like you gotta heart starter! and it is wonderful that you are sensitive to percieve the shifting energies. reiki seems to bring a newness to our perception of life and the potential of our role within it. love jules
