In London today a man was brutally murdered in the most unspeakable fashion. The murder was done in the name of religion.

Why?

Why do people kill in the name of religion?

I am just filled with confusion.

Imagine his family and how they feel tonight. The people that killed him have to love their own family.

If love was religion

who would kill in the name of love?

Very sad, seems we are still in the middle ages. But such acts just prove that love and religion are not necessarily the same.

the media feeds the fear by putting that on the air - i saw the video of the man who did the killing then had someone with a cell phone camera film him giving the statement just seconds later. the news simply fed the evil by passing along his message.... so sad.

Sadly, there are no objective news on any TV station. Everything is filtered, manipulated, and placed with specific intentions.

Hi Gerrit,

I saw some of it live on t.v. yesterday.

The innocent man was just walking with his friends.

The killers wanted to be filmed and they were shouting 'an eye for an eye' and a lot more that I could not write here because it was so offensive.

It is just so senseless it is not going to change anything.

There is just another family in mourning for a loved one.

They call themselves martyrs!

I would like to know why these radicals, live in our Western Societies if they want to live as they do in their Countries, why do they not stay where they are if they don't want to fit in, what motivates them?

This man was from London, born and bread, not another country. He was radicalised by a small radical Islamic group.
The killing was very sad, but his rage is born out of deep seemingly helpless frustration at what is happening in the Middle East in the name of democracy and freedom where hundreds of thousands have been killed in the past decade who were nearly all as blameless and innocent as the poor soldier he murdered on the streets of London. We are all tied into these killings. There is no separation. That separation is in our minds only. I am not an apologist for him. What he did was wrong in the eyes of God, Allah and the law. I am also not affiliated to any religion myself, but I have had some interesting mystical experiences.
These things happen and we see them because Creation is speaking to us. It is screaming at us to do something to fix these problems, and the solution is not revenge and retribution. It is love and understanding and helping people discover Truth. I have written about this in my book The Prince of Peace, available from Amazon, ISBN 978-0-9572646-0-1

I agree totally that love and understanding is what is needed more than revenge and retribution.

free will and forgiveness is hard to accept when something like this happens.

No killing is ever senseless because it brings out compassion and empathy in some people and that can only be the one good thing that comes from such a horror.

Everyone loses when something like this happens not just the people involved.

take care
