The Matrix and Know Thyself

It is strange that the movie The Matrix had the quote Know Thyself in the oracle's kitchen when the movie series actually had the opposite effect. It actually slowed down spiritual development and forced many to become lost by believing that what is actually true about where we are is not true. You have to accept where you are for what it is if you plan on knowing yourself. The Matrix Trilogy is an awesome action movie but a very weak spiritual tool.

Hello Mage.

Simple, not think much, answer...

Science Fiction could lead to science fact. Perhaps watching a film without darkness about it, may be a good idea.

Thinking a bit, answer...

The book of Genesis may suggest that to know thyself may not be that good of an idea.

If there are to be any further: The Matrix films to be made, then the characters that are not that nice may be nice after the passing of time.

The original Star Wars trilogy had the dark side passing away, and were nice at the end of Star (The Return Of The Jedi) Wars. Perhaps similar stuff could occur for other science fiction stories, like... Alien and/or other horror films.

Perhaps Jason Vorhees and/or Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers (etc.) could turn nice in the future.

That may take some time.

The scary story round the camp fire may continue to be told. Summer is on the way for 2017.

Not all children have guardians that can afford to take them to Summer camp.

Scooby Doo is still on television I think.

Hopefully there will be no robot fish in the sea in the future (perhaps not fair on the real fish).

Do children belong in the sea? Castles can be built by both old and young of sand on the land.

Hope you have a good day.

The external world is both spiritual and physical; behind every physical phenomenon is a spiritual agent which is the prime mover. The spiritual cannot exist in a vacuum for the spiritual is operative at all times and actively permeates the physical.
“Know thyself!” is an ancient saying that comes down to us from the past. From the fusion of two sayings — ‘the world is Maya,’ from the East, and ‘know thyself!’, — there first arose the quest for spiritual knowledge.
The quest for truth and reality had its origin in this twofold perception that, in the final analysis, the world is illusion and that man must attain to self-knowledge.
People then come to the conclusion: I bear within me some quality that is different from anything I see and hear around me. I must arrive at an understanding of my own being, for I cannot find it in anything that I see and hear in nature.
In all the ancient Mysteries seekers have felt the need to discover the reality of their inner being, whereas all the transient phenomena of space and time is felt to be an expression of the the greater spiritual reality. And so, in order to arrive at an understanding of our inner being, we need to look beyond the findings of sense-perception.
But if no attempt is made to investigate the spiritual world along clear-cut, intelligible lines, but through self-induced belief and nebulous enthusiasm, the spiritual world remains a closed book. In this instance illusion is magnified.
If we wish to bridge the gap between the world of Maya and the “Know thyself” we must approach the humanity and the phenomenal world with reverence. We stand before a void if our sole starting-point is the world of illusion. We are powerless unless we find a form of knowledge that transcends the knowledge of external nature, which is knowledge of Maya, the Great Illusion. We need to find the spiritual reality that allows illusion to become reality and then we will Know Ourselves.
Perhaps The Matrix was a metaphor for this spiritual quest.

Hello Corbeau,

An egg is not necessarily an illusion, just because a bird may prefer to go flying.

What was in the past is probably (some may say definitely) not to be repeated.

I would imagine (not being God myself) that God would be the decider in regards to matters like deja vu.

Forcing a flying bird back into an egg may not necessarily be a good idea. That could be seen as a kind of cruelty.

Hopefully a bird would go to a happy dream one day if a bird was suffering.

Where a bird goes is unknown to me.

Flying adds up to 73. A perfect number.

Perfect adds up to 73.

Children adds up to 73, also.

And here is another...

p = 16
a = 1
r = 18
a = 1
d = 4
i = 9
s = 19
e = 5
_____ +
73

To go flying. Birds are quite lucky I think.

Thank goodness that God has created birds, I say.

I like to go flying whilst asleep. It is my belief that it is up to God whether or not I can go flying.

Thank goodness (and thank God) for flying dreams. I don't have many of those.

Perhaps the birds are already in paradise, on God's good earth.

Hopefully children shall look after God's good earth, so that birds can be happy.

Heaven could be a happy dream.

Paradise could be a happy dream also.

Hope you have a good Saturday!

Hello Paradise some might think one would be a bit of an egg to force a bird back into its shell and I for one would not attempt it, not because I would end up with egg on my face but because the phenomenal world is real as you may have noticed if you say perhaps, have scrambled eggs for breakfast, or alternatively hatch the egg into a chick and set it free to forage and roost- So that being the case we are obliged to conform with the laws of nature.
The quest for spiritual perception and understanding of our spiritual origins is ancient, present and will always be with us. We condensed out of the spiritual and will refine ourselves back into spirit in the far distant future. God’s good earth will, if we work out how, continue as paradise -after all spirit and matter belong together. It is when we don’t recognise this that we are under an illusion.
Every passing moment has a perfection about it even in its tumultuousness if we love the divinity and its physical expression.
